Prof. Bağcı argued that the Trump administration represents a clear break from the post-1945 international order by prioritizing power and strategic interests over rules and institutions. He noted that the United States is acting from a position of hard power and views Greenland as a strategic necessity for containing both China and Russia. According to Prof. Bağcı, this realist approach sidelines diplomacy, heightens Europe’s sense of insecurity, and increases Türkiye’s strategic importance in European security.
